St. Petersburg’s Grand Central District is about to get a whole lot more exciting with the grand opening of The Irons Club, a vibrant indoor golf lounge that combines the thrill of golf with the ambiance of a sports bar and social club. Located at 2140 Central Avenue, this 4,000-square-foot venue promises an unparalleled experience for both golf enthusiasts and those just looking for a fun night out.
“We looked at a couple of locations, but it’s hard to find a spot with the roof clearance for the [golf] bays. Once we found this spot, we went all in here because we just love this neighborhood and everything that’s going on in Grand Central,” said General Manager Jeff Anderson, highlighting the strategic choice of location.
A Hub for Golf and Socializing
The Irons Club features four state-of-the-art Trackman simulators, each capable of accommodating up to eight players. These simulators offer advanced training tools, including high-speed cameras with flicker-free lighting for detailed video analysis, as well as fun, approachable games for beginners.
“There are a lot of arcade-style games like ‘Closest to the Pin’ designed for people who have picked up a club for the first time,” Anderson said.
Professional golf lessons are available, led by Director of Golf Patrick Mills, a former NCAA All-American golfer.
“Our training bay has high-speed cameras with flicker-free lighting, so it gives a frame-by-frame video breakdown, which is great for a golfer who’s training for a tournament or just wants to work on their game,” Anderson added.
The venue also includes co-working spaces and a chef-created menu, making it a versatile spot for both work and play.

More Than Just Golf
Anderson emphasized that The Irons Club is designed to be a comfortable indoor space where people can enjoy sports, food, and company, even if they’re not avid golfers.
“They’ve kind of overlooked Florida because you really can’t golf year-round. No one’s going out at three o’clock in July to tee off. It’s hot,” he explained. “We also wanted this built out to be a place where, even if you aren’t a golfer, you can come hang out at the bar, watch sports or grab a bite to eat for lunch.”
Grand Opening Celebrations
The Irons Club is hosting a grand opening weekend with a ribbon cutting on Friday at 2 p.m., followed by free walk-in golfing on Saturday and Sunday. Visitors can enjoy the venue’s cutting-edge technology, chef-crafted menu tastings, and a lively atmosphere complete with DJ performances and giveaways.
Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just looking for a new spot to hang out, The Irons Club is set to become a hotspot in St. Pete’s vibrant entertainment scene. So, grab your clubs (or not!) and swing by to experience the fun for yourself!
