Reggae Rise Up Took Over St. Pete – And Honestly, We’re Still Not Over It

Avery Barnes

If you were anywhere near downtown St. Pete, you already know… Reggae Rise Up wasn’t just a festival – it was a full citywide vibe.

From March 12-15, Vinoy Park turned into a sun-soaked, music-filled escape where locals, visitors and the entire “RRU fam” came together for four days of nonstop energy right on the waterfront.

And somehow … it gets better every single year.

The Kind of Weekend St. Pete Does Best

There’s just something about St. Pete when a festival hits.

Coffee runs at sunrise, bathing suits under outfits, Sun Cruisers in hand by noon and that steady flow of people making their way toward the water, ready for whatever the day brings.

By the time you stepped into Vinoy Park, it was a different world. Music in the air, hammocks swaying, barefoot dancing in the grass and that feeling of all worries melting away within the first 10 minutes.

Music, But Make It an Experience

Yes, the lineup delivered (as always).

From crowd-favorite throwbacks to high-energy sets that had the entire park moving, every artist brought something different – and the crowd matched it.

But what makes Reggae Rise up special isn’t just who’s on stage.

It’s everything happening in between.

It’s grabbing a drink with your friends and somehow ending up dancing with strangers.

It’s wandering through vendor booths and leaving with something you didn’t plan on buying but had to have.

It’s laying in the grass during a sunset set thinking, “yeah … this is exactly where I’m supposed to be.”

The Community Is the Headliner

If you ask anyone why they come back every year, it’s not just for the music.

It’s for the people.

Reggae Rise Up has built a community that feels inclusive, welcoming and genuinely connected. Whether it’s your first time or your fifth, you’re a part of it the second you walk in.

You’ll see:

  • Groups of friends who’ve made this their annual tradition
  • Locals showing out and running into each other all weekend
  • Visitors experiencing St. Pete at its absolute best
  • Festival fits, bare feet and the kind of energy you can’t fake

It’s one of the few events where the vibe feels just as important as the lineup – and somehow, both deliver.

A Weekend That Spills Into the City

And the best part? It doesn’t stop at the gates.

Downtown was alive all weekend – bars packed, brunch spots buzzing, after-parties popping up and everyone still riding that festival high long after the last set ended.

Reggae Rise Up doesn’t just happen in St. Pete.

It becomes St. Pete for the weekend.

Until Next Year…

Now that it’s over, there’s that slight post-festival sadness – but also the kind of excitement that comes from knowing it’ll all happen again.

Because if Reggae Rise Up proved anything, it’s this:

St. Pete shows up.

The community shows out.

And Reggae Rise Up continues to be one of the best things to hit the city all year.

If you missed it … don’t make that mistake twice.
